5 Steps To Installing Pool Liners Above Ground
So you finally got that pool you’ve always wanted but now you need to install the pool liner to finish it all off. Don’t worry, it’s not as hard as you may think. Just follow the 5 steps below to install a pool liner above ground.
Step #1 – First up you need to gather all the materials you will need. That includes the pool liner, pool trim and a garden hose. Now get the pool liner and unfold it. Lay it out in the yard to let it warm up. Its easier to install the liner when its warm.
Step #2 – Next up is the sand cove. A sand cove is a 6 inch wedge of sand that goes around the wall of the bottom of the pool. Some people will choose to cover the entire bottom of the pool with send instead of just the walls. Remember to do the sand cove before you install the pool liner. The sand cove helps to protect the bottom of the pool and also makes it softer to walk on.
Step #3 – Now you are ready to put the liner in the pool. You won’t be able to do this alone so make sure you have a few friends there to help you. You want to make this as centered as possible. Drag it over the top of the pool and let it fall down. There will be excess liner that will go over the edges of the pool. Make sure everyone holds on to their edge of the liner.
Make sure the liner is touching the ground on all sides but don’t pull it tightly. If your liner is the right size it will be big enough to cover everything.
Step #4 – Get the pool trim and place it on top of the liner to hold it in place. Now get the water hose and start filling that baby up. You are almost ready to take that first swim. Make sure you work out any kinks or wrinkles while the pool is filling up. You also want to make sure you get the filters in place before the pool is completely filled with water. Each pool is a little different so read the guidelines to figure out how to do the filters.
Step #5 – Jump in the pool for a swim! Now that everything is done, you can go for a swim with the family in the pool.
